Had a meeting with my team today. Going over some strategy stuff.


Main takeaway was that it's actually quite easy to win if you just do ONE thing as a local business.


It's as close to a magic bullet as you can get.


Most local businesses don't advertise much. And when they do, they advertise their service of product.


Plumbers. Chriopractors. Divorce attorneys. You name it.


Just for fun, Google 'divorce attorney' and then add your city. See what shows up.


It's one of the most expensive keywords so the people advertising it should be sharp as a tack.


Check the headlines of those ads and you'll see something weird. Notice how almost no one actually uses the word "divorce attorney" in the headline of their ad?


That's odd. Because it's the first thing someone will check when they put that search phrase in. It's what you WANT to see as a searcher.


And it's easy to set up as well. Just do some aikido with the keywords and ad groups and voila! You show up at the right time for the right word.


The ONLY thing you have to do to win as a local biz is this:
