Momentum paradox

Hi,

It's Arno.

Got an insight for you that will be useful in business. Seems paradoxical but it's really not.

I enjoy boxing as a hobby. Train 3x a week with a trainer and we spar for 3 rounds at the end of every session.

I box best when I'm moving forward. Only time I ever hit my trainer is when I'm aggressively moving forward.

Downside of this is that's also when I get hit most. So I take a few hits to land a few hits.

But when I move backwards or try to just hold my ground? I get annihilated. The man just fires at will.

Moving forward SEEMS like it would be much more labor intensive. Much more taxing then taking a breather, moving backwards or even just holding your ground.

It's really not.

Momentum kills. Pressure kills. If you're moving forward all the time a lot of worries just melt away. Problems seem to solve themselves. You're blasting hard and you have no time to fret about small stuff.

My most annoying business problems always hit me when I was standing still or slowly losing ground. As soon as momentum turns against you it just gets worse.

This is why we keep moving forward. Test new things. Try out new ads, new methods, new media, new sales ideas, new marketing, new everything.

Do. Not. Move. Backwards.

Talk soon,

Arno
